Men’s Basketball set to play Benedictine in NACC Tournament semifinal

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin will compete against Benedictine on Friday at 5 pm in a NACC Tournament semifinal matchup. The game will be played at top-seeded Aurora.

Concordia Wisconsin (15-11, 12-8 NACC) has won four-straight games entering the matchup against the Eagles on Friday. The Falcons defeated Lakeland on Tuesday, 99-85, in a quarterfinal game behind a stellar performance at the free throw line making 92.3 percent (24-of-26). They also had three players score 20 or more points and were led by freshman Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) who had 27 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks.

In two earlier meetings this season, Benedictine won both over Concordia Wisconsin by scores of 78-65 (January 9) and 83-75 (February 6). In those contests, the Eagles won the rebounding battle both times and shot over 45 percent in each victory.

Benedictine (16-9, 15-5) was atop the standings all season before losing its last two regular season games to fall into the No. 2 seed, but still received a first-round bye. They led the NACC in field goal percentage (48.0), assists per game (16.4) and defensive field goal percentage (42.5). Brayden Olson scored 25 points in each matchup against Concordia Wisconsin and leads the league in scoring at 22.2 points per contest. He is also first in assists (139) and turnovers (99).
