NEWSWORTHY NOTES
• HOME IS THE PLACE TO BE:
Concordia Wisconsin has compiled an 11-9 overall record this season, but has played much better at home than on the road with a 6-2 record inside the R. John Buuck Field House. They are shooting 51.1 percent at home and have more assists than turnovers in four of the eight games.
• DIFFICULTY FOR THE NACC: The Falcons defensive abilities around the rim make it difficult for NACC opponents to score. They rank second in league-only games with 3.7 blocks per game. Concordia Wisconsin has rejected at least four shots in seven contests, including a total of 26 over the last five games.
• MAKING THE EASY ONES: Concordia Wisconsin is one of the best free throw shooting teams in the nation, ranking seventh and leading the NACC. They sink 77.8 percent at the charity stripe and have made 80 percent or better in 11 contests. On the Falcons lineup, four consistent starters are shooting 77.5 percent or better at the free throw line. Freshman Jordan Johnson leads the team and NACC at 89.1 percent (49-of-55).
• SCOUTING MARIAN: The Sabres have played well defensively, allowing just 74.7 points per game, which is the second fewest allowed by a NACC school. They also rank first with 8.5 steals per game. However, they struggle on the offensive end at times, scoring 72.7 points per game. Alex Manhardt is the only player in the NACC averaging a double-double per game (14.8 points, 10.3 rebounds), while shooting 56.0 percent (fifth in the NACC). He has eight double-doubles this season. Marian is 4-15 inside the R. John Buuck Field House since January of 2001.
