Men's Basketball can't contain Myers, Dunn in home loss

Mequon, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin was within two points with under nine minutes to play, but couldn't get any closer as Aurora walked away with a 90-82 victory, behind 20-plus point performances from Marcus Myers and Matt Dunn.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons trailed by two points, 72-70, with just under nine minutes to play in the game, but the Spartans were able to build a quick eight-point lead after a couple of empty possessions by CUW and just 44 seconds elapsed off the clock. Concordia Wisconsin again tied to climb back into the game by pulling within four with only five minutes remaining and once again the Spartans were able to stop the run and stay out of reach. The Falcons weren't able to get back within five for the rest of the game.
- The contest stayed close for much of the way with 11 lead changes and five scoring ties, as the teams battled back and forth. Aurora's Marcus Myers provided to be part of a two-headed attack, as he ended with 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds. The other thorn in the Falcons side was Matt Dunn, who accumulated 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and stole three passes.
- The second half had a different offense feel for the Falcons, as freshmen Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) jump-started the offensive attack with 13 points. He was able to freeze defenders and pull up on his way to 16 points off the bench, which was a season-high. The Falcons also saw production from junior Josh Hau (Slinger, Wis.) who netted 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while sophomore Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.) who was able to go 5-for-11 for 12 points and six rebounds.
- Concordia Wisconsin was able to outrebound the Spartans 45-to-38 and the Falcons bench came up big with 28 points compared to Aurora's nine. The hosts shot 48.4 percent from the field and 76.2 percent from the line.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- A difference in the game was Aurora's ability to score off turnovers, as they capitalized on 16 Concordia Wisconsin errors by scoring 16 points.
- The Spartans now lead the series 14-7. The Falcons won the last meeting 90-86 back in February during the 2016-17 campaign.

THE OPPOSITION
- All starters were in double figures for Aurora, as Ty Carlson scored 14 to go along with six rebounds and Pat Kramp chipped in 10 points.
