Courtside Notes: Men's Basketball hosts Lakeland in NACC action

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin and Lakeland square off in a NACC matchup on Thursday night at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

NEWSWORTHY NOTES
- CLINCHED A HOME GAME: The Falcons victory over Edgewood on Tuesday clinched the No. 3 seed in the NACC Tournament and a home game next Wednesday at 7 pm against No. 6 Dominican. It is the sixth time in head coach Shawn Cassidy's tenure the Falcons have garnered the third seed or better in the postseason.
- KITTEL GETTING CLOSER: Nothing new here to read other than updated numbers as the Eric Kittel quest for 1,491 points continues to get closer. The senior scored 17 points on Tuesday night to bring his career total to 1,435 points. He needs to average 18.3 points over the next two regular season games and next Wednesday's postseason contest. If the Falcons win next week his scoring average would drop to 13.8 points to stay on pace for the record-breaking total.
- • SQUISH THE FISH: Hold on now, while the chants from the student section can sometimes be heard 'squish the fish', fans might think the Falcons own the series. However, the all-time record between the two teams is much closer than you would think, as Concordia Wisconsin has a slight 61-57 edge.
- MUST GET OUT IN FRONT: The Falcons are best when they get ahead of the opposition by halftime, posting a 12-0 record when leading at the intermission. In addition, they are 12-2 when leading with five minutes to play in the game.
- BALANCED SCORING: It's no secret the more balanced a program is offensively, the more games they are likely to win. Concordia Wisconsin is 10-4 this season when three or four players score in double-figures. Any more or less than that and the record is an unimpressive 4-5 this season. Eric Kittel has been the leading scorer 10 times, followed by Josh Hau (5), Josh Erickson (4), Jake Jurss (4) and Andrew Fratzke (2).
