Falcons host Regents on Saturday/ The Scouting Report

MEQUON, Wis.-  Rockford has won just eight of 21 games so far this season, but the Regents are still a dangerous bunch as their 6-6 NAC South record indicates.  Scott Suchy is one of the top offensive threats in the conference, sporting an 18.5 average.  He scores from inside and out (40-114) on 3-pointers, and also has dished out 45 assists.

Post player David Dixon is next in line, tallying 14 points per game for the Regents.  Dixon is also RC's leading rebounder with better than eight per outing.  Four players do most of the scoring for the Regents.   The other two are Tory Minnifield (12.0) and Grant Olsen (10.4).  Olsen grabs six rebounds per contest.

Rockford likes to push the ball, scoring 70 points per game while allowing 74.  The Regents have been guilty of 15 turnovers on average each night out but harass opponents into 16.4 errors on average.

The athletic Regents have been a streaky squad, winning three straight since struggling through an eight game skid.  Those three wins have come against Wisconsin Lutheran, Maranatha, and Concordia Chicago with both the WLC and Maranatha victories coming in OT.

Keys to the Game for CUW

Take care of the basketball- Rockford plays a gambling defense while attempting to force turnovers.

Use team depth- Six players get the majority of playing time for the visitors while CUW has worn the opposition down via their excellent bench play.

Move your feet on "D" The Regents have been to the foul line 432 times; that's 50 more times than their opposition.

About Concordia

The Falcons have been on a tear lately, winning the CIT and moving into contention for their fourth consecutive NAC North crown. CUW owns the tie-breaker for tournament seeding should both Lakeland and the Falcons win the rest of their regular season contests.

Shawn Cassidy's team has won four straight and six of their last seven, averaging 74 points per contest during that win streak. Mark Pace (13.4), Steve Zielinski (11.1), and Brian Jackson (10.0 in conference play) have been the top scorers.

Overall the Falcons are averaging just under 70 points per game while allowing 66. Defense has been the key for CUW as opponents have only been able to convert 38% of their field goal attempts compared to CUW's 44%. Concordia has also outrebounded opponents by better than four per game.

After today's regular season finale, CUW's regular season title stretch drive will include games at MSOE, Wisconsin Lutheran, and Maranatha.
