WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis.- CUW was held to a season-low 14 points in the first half, falling behind 29-14 at the break on the way to a 62-42 defeat at the hands of the tall and talented Blue Devils of UW-Stout.
The Falcons (5-5) connected on just five of 29 shots in the first twenty minutes (17%) and finished with a meager 24% overall.
Stout, on the other hand, stepped up their shooting from 34% in the first half to 57% (12-21) after halftime.
The WIAC powerhouse also controlled the boards by a 45-33 margin. Senior Steve Zielinski (Brown Deer., Wis.) was the only Falcon in double figures with 10 points and the 6' 9 center also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Senior Brian Jackson (Carol Stream, Ill.) added nine points but no other Falcon had more than four.
Concordia returns to action on January 2 when the 'always on the road' Falcons travel to Concordia Chicago for a 7:00pm matchup.
