
Maranatha Baptist Bible continues Men’s Basketball homestand
MEQUON, Wis.
- Concordia University Wisconsin's men's basketball team
continues a three-game homestand on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
against Maranatha Baptist Bible College. Thursday night's game
against MBBC is being made up from its originally scheduled date,
Jan. 12, because of inclement weather.
The Falcons remained perfect at home this past Tuesday
after a heart-stopping 89-85 overtime victory over Marian
University. With the win CUW (15-5) remained in a tie for first
place with Edgewood College in the Northern Athletics Conference
North Division with a 10-2 league record.
Fans unable to make it to the game can watch the
contest via live video (Matt Menzl on the play-by-play
call) or live statistics.
Senior Luke Doedens (Cedarburg, Wis.) leads CUW with a
17.4 points per game average, while senior Mitchell Schneider (New
Holstein, Wis.) is scoring 14.3 per contest. Doedens also leads the
team with 101 rebounds and 41 steals. Senior Matt Paluchniak
(Oostburg, Wis.) had dished out a team-best 101 assists and junior
Steven Zielinski (Brown Deer, Wis.) has rejected 23 field goal
attempts.
MBBC (2-14, 0-11) is led by Matthew Hunter and Joel
Borchardt who are scoring 11.5 and 11.4 points per game,
respectively. Borschardt leads the NAC with 9.3 rebounds per
game.
In the last meeting between these two squads CUW
earned a 73-66 win on Feb. 12, 2011. Doedens scored a team-high 23
points, while Schneider added 19 points.
The Falcons have won three straight games against the
Crusaders.
