Men’s Basketball plays UW-Oshkosh on Thursday
MEQUON, Wis. -
Head coach Shawn Cassidy and the Concordia University
Wisconsin men's basketball team travels to Wisconsin Dells, Wis.,
for a non-conference game Thursday night against UW-Oshkosh at 7
p.m. inside the Just a Game Fieldhouse. The game will be the fourth
UW opponent this season for the Falcons.
CUW (7-3) dropped an 81-65
non-conference road matchup at Carroll University in its most
recent contest on Dec. 17. The Falcons were held to 24 points in
the first half, their lowest point total in a half this season.
Senior Mitchell Schneider (New Holstein, Wis.) led CUW with 12
points.
Senior Luke Doedens
(Cedarburg, Wis.) leads CUW with a 16.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per
game average, including a stunning 58.9 percent from beyond the
3-point line. Schneider is averaging 15.2 points per game, to go
along with a team-high 19 steals. Senior
Matt Paluchniak (Oostburg, Wis.) has dished out 41 assists, while
junior Steve Zielinski (Brown Deer, Wis.) has rejected 19 field
goal attempts.
UW-Oshkosh (4-6) dropped its last
contest on Dec. 22 against Loras College, 87-71, in Las Vegas. The
Titans had three players in double-figures, but couldn't stop the
Duhawk's who shot 53.4 percent in the game.
John Flanigan leads UW-O with a
20.4 points per game average on 55.3 percent shooting. He is also
60-of-66 (90.9 percent) from the free throw line. Chad Mathwig is
also scoring in double-figures with12.1 points per contest.
The Titans lead the nation in
free throw percentage (83.1).
