Sabres Stop CUW in SAA Action

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team competed in the all-Wisconsin Southern Athletic Association contest at Marian on Saturday afternoon. The Sabres won 6-1 to send the Falcons to 2-6 and 1-3 in the SAA.

Senior Alex Klamm (Glenn Carbon, Ill.) scored the lone CUW goal of the game in the second quarter when she was lurking at the far side of the net and the ball rolled her way.

Senior Halli Schneiderwendt (Appleton, Wis.) posted 11 saves in the start.

Freshman Parks Cawthray (Oakville, Ont.) added six saves in the fourth quarter.

The Sabres held a 36-6 advantage in shots. Freshman Maddie Rider (Danville, Pa.) and senior Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.) both had two shots on the day.

The Falcons look to level the weekend series on Sunday morning.
