Field Hockey Tabbed Third in the SAA Preseason Poll
ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association has released the 2023 SAA Field Hockey Preseason Poll. The Falcons are projected to finish in third place.
The Falcons gathered nine points in the poll.
The defending Southern Athletic Association field hockey champion Rhodes was picked to repeat in 2023, edging Centre by one point in the preseason poll. The two schools tied atop the poll last season with the Lynx eventually winning the regular season and the Colonels taking the tournament title.
Marian is projected to finish in fourth place with eight points and Sewanee is picked fifth at four points.
Concordia finished in a three-way tie for third place in the 2022 season with a 2-3 record in the SAA. The Blue and White earned the fourth seed in the SAA Tournament with a tiebreaker.
The Falcons open the season on Sept. 2 at Earlham.
SAA play begins on Sept. 16 at home against Centre.
