During his tenure, Fictum has coached the offensive line that blocked for one of the country's most explosive offenses, a conference championship team, and a quarterback who was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy.

Individually, he has mentored three pre-season All-Americans, a D3Football.com All-North Region offensive lineman, and 18 All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference offensive linemen. In addition, the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys have done preliminary scouting for one of his linemen.

Prior to his high school coaching, Fictum also served at Lakeland College where they won several conference titles. He also assisted with the offensive line at UW-Oshkosh.

As a four-year letter winner in college, Fictum played at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he started on the offensive line and handled the long-snapping duties for three years for the Pointers after transferring from UW-Platteville. With UW-Stevens Point, Fictum won two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships and a National Championship title. In addition, Fictum played several years of semi-pro football with the Racine Raiders, winning five national championships. He also played a year of football in Glasgow, Scotland.

Fictum was inducted into the American Football Association Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame, named All-American and all-conference, and had several NFL free agent tryouts earning time in three NFL training camps as an offensive lineman and long snapper.

He lives in New Holstein, Wisconsin, with his wife Colleen and their two children, Grace and Noah.
