Bio

Adam Walker has been a part of the Concordia University Wisconsin football staff since 2006. He started as the running backs coach for the 2006 and 2007 seasons before moving to Defensive Coordinator. The CUW defense has been one of the top units in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference each year under his direction as coordinator.

During the 2016 season, the Falcons led the NACC in fumbles recovered (14) and defensive touchdowns (3). As well, in 2011 his pass defense allowed just 122.6 yards per game and ranked first in all of NCAA Division III. The Falcons followed that up with a strong season in 2012, allowing 18.7 points per game, ranking second in the conference. During the 2013 campaign, they led the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in tackles per game (75.0) and scored a league-best four touchdowns. In 2014, the Falcons tied for the NACC lead with 13 fumble recoveries.

Prior to coming to CUW, Walker worked at Carthage College for three seasons, where he coached the secondary. Under the tutelage of then Defensive Coordinator Greg Etter,  the 2004 secondary finished first nationally with 31 interceptions and 10 defensive touchdowns. He also served as a Head Coach at the high school level for eight years and as an assistant coach for five years. Walker has been a part of three NCAA playoff teams in his eight years of collegiate football. Walker’s playing career began at Carthage College (1981-85) where he was a quarterback before playing shortly with the Minnesota Vikings as a running back in 1987.

Walker also served as the Concordia University Wisconsin Head Track & Field Coach (men & women) for five seasons (2006–10). In his short term as leader of the track & field program, he has won nine NAC Championships (indoor & outdoor) and nine Coach of the Year honors. He also has the distinction of coaching three National Champions and several All-Americans. Amanda Kuca was the 2006 National DIII Track Athlete of the Year and a National Champion. Brock Solveson was the DIII National Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both 2009 and 2010, along with winning two National Championships. Walker also serves as the Minority  Student-Athlete  Recruiting  Liaison.

Walker is married to Glynis and they have one son, Adam.
