Gio Nowotarski Named NACC Special Teams Player of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released its Student-Athlete of the Week honors for football on Tuesday morning. Gio Nowotarski was voted as the NACC Special Teams Player of the Week by the league's athletic communications professionals.

A senior from Reading, Pennsylvania, Gio Nowotarski is claiming the honor for the first time this season. This is the second time that he has claimed the special teams honor and his third overall honor for football.

Nowotarski stuffed the stat sheet in the 34-24 victory over Calvin.

He picked up a fumble on a punt and returned it for a 30-yard touchdown.

Defensively, he also had an interception for 21 yards and six tackles.

His last Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week honor came on Sept. 25, 202. He was also the NACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4, 2022.

Carson Koehler of Wisconsin Lutheran was voted the Offensive Player of the Week and Jose Barragan of Benedictine was voted the Defensive Player of the Week.

Nowotarski and the Falcons open NACC play on Sept. 28 at Benedictine.
