Stewart named NACC Defensive Player of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference named Troy Stewart the Defensive Player of the Week in football on Tuesday morning. Stewart helped the Falcons close the year with a 21-14 victory in the Luther Cup against Wisconsin Lutheran.

A sophomore from Trevor, Wisconsin, Stewart is claiming this honor for the first time in his career.

Against Wisconsin Lutheran, Stewart had an 11-yard fumble return for a touchdown that tied the game at 14 points.

He also added one tackle to the stat sheet.

Stewart is the fourth Falcon to claim a NACC weekly honor with senior Aaron Nixon being named the Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11 and Oct. 2. Senior Jacob Mason claimed the Special Teams Player of the Week title on Sept. 18 and Oct. 23 and freshman Josiah McDermit was the Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18.

The Falcons closed the season with a 7-3 record and a second-place finish in the NACC.
