Football chosen to finish sixth in NACC preseason poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Football team was chosen to finish sixth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, in a vote by the league's head coaches and athletic communicators.

The Falcons are coming off a 2-8 overall record from a year ago and a 1-5 in NACC play.

Lakeland was picked to defend its NACC title with 12 first-place votes and 123 points, while Aurora was picked to finish second (80 total points, three first-place votes). Benedictine was third with 88 total points and new NACC football member Eureka had 78 points and a first-place vote for fourth place.

Wisconsin Lutheran was fifth (66 points), Concordia Wisconsin was sixth (44 points), Concordia Chicago came in at seventh with 39 points and Rockford rounded out the poll with 33 points.

The Falcons opens their season on September 1 in a non-conference matchup at Finlandia at 1 pm. Their first home game is September 8 at 1 pm against Augsburg at Tomasini Stadium. They begin NACC play on September 29 at 1 pm at Benedictine.

 

The NACC's regular season champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
