Football picked to finish fifth in NACC Preseason Poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Football team was selected to finish fifth in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, in a vote by the league's head coaches and athletic communicators.

The Falcons are coming off a 3-7 overall record from a year ago and a 1-5 in NACC play. CUW will look to fill the void of multiple seniors that were lost to graduation.

Lakeland was chosen to defend its NACC title with eight first-place votes and 85 points, while Aurora was picked to finish second (80 total points, two first-place votes). Benedictine was third with 76 total points and three first-place votes and Wisconsin Lutheran was fourth with 60 total points and one first-place vote.

CUW was fifth (44 points), Concordia Chicago came in at sixth with 32 points and Rockford rounded out the poll with 15 points.

The Falcons opens their season at home on September 1 in a non-conference matchup against Finlandia at 1 pm at Tomasini Stadium. They begin NACC play on September 30 at 1 pm against Lakeland at home.

The NACC's champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship.
