Football selected to win NACC in Preseason Poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's football team was selected to win the 2013 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference championship in a vote by the league's head coaches and athletic communicators.

The Falcons return a multitude of student-athletes in all three phases of the game – offense, defense and special teams – after finishing 7-3 overall a season ago and 6-1 in conference play. CUW earned 10 of the 14 possible first place votes, and tallied 90 total points.

Wisconsin Lutheran College was chosen second with three first-place votes and 85 points, while Aurora University had one first-place vote and 66 total points.

Benedictine University was fourth with 53 points, Concordia University Chicago was fifth with 49 points and Lakeland College and Rockford College concluded the seven team poll with 31 and 18 points, respectively.

All seven teams will have played their opening non-conference game following Saturday, Sept. 7. The NACC portion of the schedule begins on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The NACC Champion earns an automatic bid in the 2013 NCAA Division III Playoffs.
