Baseball travels to Aurora Saturday, hosts Benedictine on Sunday
MEQUON, Wis. - The most important portion of
Concordia University Wisconsin's schedule has arrived and the next
four baseball doubleheaders will determine its fate as the Northern
Athletics Conference Tournament approaches rapidly.
The Falcons travel to NAC-leader Aurora University on Saturday for a twin bill starting at 12 p.m., before hosting Benedictine University at Kapco Park starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition, Matt Menzl will be providing live audio play-by-play for Sunday's series and live statistics will also be available.
Over the last six games senior Austin Sarauer (Campbellsport, Wis.) has been connecting with the ball at the plate to the tune of a .556 batting average (10-of-18). He also leads the team with four doubles and 14 total bases during the stretch.
Sophomores Austin Baglow (Walled Lake, Mich.) and Mathew Scasny (Pewaukee, Wis.) have paced the pitching staff with 24 and 10 strikeouts, respectively, during NAC play. Baglow has a 0.77 ERA in 23.1 innings and league batters are hitting .217 against him.
AU (22-6, 9-3 NAC) has outscored its conference opponents 130-63 in 12 games played. The Spartans lead the NAC in doubles (68), home runs (22), RBI (223), slugging percentage (.480) and ERA (2.76).
Overall, Cory Walden leads six batters who have hit a home run with eight dingers, to go along with a team-high 38 RBI and 21 walks. Tim Mackey is hitting a team-best .404 and has scored 41 times. On the mound, Drew Gay, Eric Palmer and Brad Warnecke have combined for a 13-0 record and 98 strikeouts in 111.1 innings.
BenU (14-13, 8-4 NAC) is second in the NAC in numerous categories, including doubles, triples and home runs. The Eagles haven't dropped a league doubleheader this season, but recently fell 10-9 in a non-conference matchup at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday.
Dan Zust is the offensive catalyst for the Eagles with 44 hits, 18 doubles and 16 stolen bases. A variety of batters have contributed, while Ryan Mullin has drawn 18 base on balls. On the hill, Mark Belcastro is the ace with a 2.68 ERA in 47.0 innings pitched, to go along with a 31-to-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
