2017 Season (Junior): Participated in all six meets...Competed in compulsories, acro, pyramid, toss, tumbling and team routine.

2015 Season (Freshman): Participated in all six meets...Competed in compulsories, acro, pyramid, tumbling and team routine.

Karen is a freshman from Elkhorn, Nebraska. Here at CUW, she is working towards her degree in Athletic Training. While at Elkhorn High School, Karen participated in Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Track where she qualified for State in Pole Vaulting. For Cheerleading, Karen was voted Junior and Senior Captain, was an All-American, and cheered in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2013. Outside of High School, Karen was an All-Star cheerleader for Elite Cheer in Omaha, NE from 2010-2014 and competed at the Cheerleading Worlds in 2012 and 2013. She also competed in Tumbling and Trampoline at Metro Stars Gymnastics in La Vista, NE (2010-2011), won second place at Nationals on Double-mini in 2010 (level 7), and won first at Nationals on Double-mini in 2011 (level 8). Karen was also a competitive gymnast for Omega Gymnastics in Papillion, NE, where she qualified for regionals in level 8 (2009) and level 9 (2014). While at Elkhorn High School, Karen earned 3 academic letters, was a member of the National Honor Society (2013-2014) and was awarded the President’s Excellence award. Her athletic awards at Elkhorn High School include varsity letters in cheerleading and track. Outside of sports, Karen enjoys recreational Tennis, running, lifting weights, drawing, painting, and writing. Karen is the daughter of Scott and Ginger Avery.
