ACHA Hockey nets nine in season-opening rout of Purdue Northwest

MEQUON, Wis.  The Falcons got their season off to a great start with a 9-1 win over the Purdue Northwest Pride on Friday night at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 9, Purdue Northwest 1
-Records: Concordia Wisconsin 1-0, Purdue 1-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gabriel D'Asto scored the first goal of the season for the Falcons in the ninth minute of the first period.
- The Pride tied it up in the 13th minute as Dan Oliszewicz put one in the net.
- Every goal there-on-after was all Concordia Wisconsin. Scott Gregor scored in the 18th minute to put CUW up 2-1 and start an 8-0 Falcon run on goals.
- In the second period, the Falcons scored four. Jonathon Grodzki scored in the fifth minute of the period, Logan Hascarl scored in the 11th minute, Cody Faber scored in the 15th, and Grodzki scored again in the 18th.
- The third period was once again all CUW. Alec Murano scored his first of the season in the second minute of the period. D'Asto scored once again in the fourth minute with Gregor scoring again in the sixth to finish out the CUW onslaught.
