Schlosser named Male Career Achievement Award winner

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin Athletic Department has announced that Sam Schlosser of the men's golf program has been named the 2019-20 Male Career Achievement Award winner.

The CUW Athletic Department released its top stories of the year over the past few weeks and over the course of a week-plus will announce its four major award winners from the 2019-20 season. This week the Female and Male Career Achievement Award winners were released and next week on Tuesday and Thursday the Female and Male Athletes of the Year will be published.

Sam Schlosser, a senior from West Bend, Wisconsin, was a four-year letter winner for the Falcons men's golf program. The righty concluded his career as the program's all-time leader in scoring average at 77.56 over 59 rounds.

He was named the 2017-18 NACC Player of the Year after winning the NACC Championship with a 299 total (71-76-81-81). His efforts at the championship set the CUW 72-hole scoring record by six strokes. Schlosser also owns a share of the individual 18-hole low round of 69 after he shot 3-under par at the Knox Invitational on March 30, 2019.

He, along with his teammates, set the program record for team low 18-hole, 36-hole and 72-hole scores. The 36-hole record of 591 (292-299) set on September 29-30, 2019 at the MSOE Invitational shattered the previous mark by 16 strokes. In addition, the 72-hole team scoring record of 1,241 achieved at the NACC Championship during the 2018-19 season left the previous record miles behind by 32 strokes.

Schlosser owns two of the four lowest single-season scoring averages and ended his career with seven top-10 finishes, six top-5 placements and twice won a tournament.
