Bio

Sarah Koenig finished her seventh year as the Acrobatics & Tumbling head coach following the 2023 season. Koenig comes to the Falcons after a successful career as a member of the Oregon Ducks Acrobatics & Tumbling program.

CUW soared to new heights in 2022 and claimed the first-ever NCATA Division III title and seven individual titles in the process. The Blue and White finished the year with a 6-1 record and broke multiple school records.

The Falcons posted a 4-1 record for the 2021 season. The Blue and White broke the program record in the tumbling open heat on three different occasions during the shortened season. 

The 2020 season was cut short due to the coronavirus, but the Falcons were able to post a 2-2 record. The Falcons broke the school record in acro heat three at Davis & Elkins at 9.55 points. 

The 2019 Falcons, continued to push the program forward, sending all three pyramid heats to the NCATA Championships. The Blue and White finished the season at 4-4. At Adrian, the Pyramid Heat 3 (Open) posted a perfect 10.0 score.

In her second season at the helm, the Falcons made program history by qualifying for the Pyramid Heat 3 (Open). CUW averaged a 9.375 in the heat throughout the season, which included a 9.90 against Adrian in a Falcons win. The Falcons posted a 3-5 dual meet record and faced many of the top teams in the country, including a home match against eventual national champion Baylor on February 10. 

Her first season as the Falcon mentor saw the program win a program-record five meets, including three at home.

Koenig was a member of the 2013-14 NCATA National Championship, along with Falcons head coach McKenzie Wilcox. She helped the Ducks post a 12-1 overall record in 2013-14, all while winning the program's fourth straight national championship. In 2014-15 Koenig helped the Ducks capture a national runner-up finish.

Koenig also brings an extensive background in gymnastics to the Falcons program. While at Steller Secondary School in Anchorage, Alaska, she was a four-year letter winner, competing in all events. During her senior season, she captured an all-around championship, while also serving as team captain. Koenig was also a member of performance gymnastics at Aurora Kids for eight years.

Koenig graduated from Oregon during the 2015 season with a Bachelor's degree in General Science. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education at CUW.
