Bio

Adam Walker has been a part of the Concordia Wisconsin Football staff since 2006. He started as a Running Backs Coach in the 2006-07 seasons and has since been a member of the defensive staff, serving as Defensive Coordinator and/or Secondary or Linebackers Coach from 2008 to present.

During his coaching time at CUW, Walker has coached some impressive teams. He was fortunate to see the 2006 team finish undefeated in the regular season (10-0). His running backs that year ranked 11th nationally in rushing offense (250.5 yards per game). During his second year as Running Backs Coach, the Falcons finished 15th nationally in rushing offense (255.4 yards per game). Walker then transitioned over to Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach. The 2009 defense ranked 1st in the NACC in pass defense (sacks and tackles for loss) and also ranked eighth nationally in tackles for loss. His 2010 defense ranked 12th nationally in tackles for loss. His 2011 secondary led the nation in pass defense (122.6 yards per game). The Falcons again led the NACC in tackles for loss in 2012.

The 2013 team went undefeated in conference play and won the NACC Championship, as well as qualifying for the National Playoffs. The 2014 defense ranked 1st in the NACC in fumble recoveries, with Austin Kaatz ranking third nationally. That same defense ranked 7th nationally in tackles for loss. In 2016, CUW ranked first in the NACC in defensive touchdowns scored, pass efficiency defense, and fumble recoveries. The 2018 season saw the Falcons finish first in the NACC in total defense and pass efficiency defense, and also finished second in scoring defense.

Prior to coming to CUW, Walker worked at his alma mater Carthage College for three seasons, where he coached the Secondary. The Carthage 2004 defense finished first nationally with 31 interceptions, 19 fumble recoveries, 50 forced turnovers and 10 defensive touchdowns. It was also Carthage’s first and last playoff appearance and conference championship since 1973. Carthage finished the year ranked fifth nationally. Walker has served as a high school head and assistant coach in Milwaukee for 14 years and as an assistant coach at the college level for the last 16 years.

Walker also served as the Concordia University Wisconsin Track & Field Head Coach (men & women) for five seasons (2006–10). In his short term as leader of the track & field program, the program won nine NACC Championships (indoor & outdoor) and he garnered nine Coach of the Year honors. He also has the distinction of coaching three National Champions and several All-Americans. Amanda Kuca was the 2006 National Division III Track Athlete of the Year and a National Champion, Brock Solveson was the National Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both 2009 and 2010, along with winning two National Championships.

Walker is married to Glynis Payne-Walker (Mary Kay Sales Director) and they have one son, Adam Brett Walker II (Professional Baseball Player).
