Pfannerstill lands Female Career Achievement Award

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Athletic Department has announced that Carley Pfannerstill, a four-year standout for the Women's Soccer program, has been honored with the 2015-16 Female Career Achievement Award.

CUWFalcons.com will be releasing the department's four major awards from the 2015-16 season over the next several weeks. Next week, the Male Career Achievement Award winner will be announced, followed by both the Female Athlete of the Year (June 30) and the Male Athlete of the Year (July 14). The awards are selected by a small committee of coaches and athletic department personnel.

The career achievement winners are student-athletes who must have participated in a sport at CUW for four years. Each team at CUW can nominate one student-athlete. 

Pfannerstill (Grafton, Wis.) was a four-time All-Conference and three-time All-Region selection during her four years with the Falcons. Of the four times she earned All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference honors, three were on the First Team, while she also landed Second Team and All-Freshman honors her rookie season.

The local product started all 78 matches in her career and in 2014 was named to the NSCAA All-Region First Team, the first time a CUW Women's Soccer player earned that recognition. She was also the program's second-ever three-time All-Region pick, joining Ashley Apazeller. Pfannerstill was named to the All-Region Second Team in 2015 and the Third Team in 2013.

She finished her career with 145 points, scoring 57 goals and adding 31 assists. She finished top 10 all-time in the NACC in points, goals and assists, while helping lead her team to a 36-6-1 NACC record over four seasons. That included a 10-0 mark in 2015, helping the Falcons capture their first-ever NACC Regular Season Championship.

Last year's Co-Female Athlete of the Year for CUW scored a career-high 45 points in her senior year for the Falcons. She ranks first in the NACC era (2006-Present) in CUW history in points (145), while being second in both goals (57) and assists (31). She scored at least 29 points in each season, and increased her point tally every year.

The Falcons won 53 games over the last four seasons, posting a 53-20-5 overall record. CUW won at least 10 games each season Pfannerstill was on board, including a program-best 15 in 2012. The Falcons also won 14 games in each of the past two seasons.
