Women's Teams have impressive run in 2015-16

Success was found throughout many teams for the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in 2015-16. The Falcons contended for several conference championships, winning many of those. Where this was especially true for CUW this past year was on the women's side, where the Falcons seemed to be in the conference race in every sport.

CUW won five conference titles in 2015-16, four of those coming on the women's side. In addition, the Falcons added four runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes in women's athletics this past year. Two of those teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament in their respective sports as well.

The success started in the fall where CUW Women captured two NACC Championships. Both the Women's Tennis and Women's Soccer teams posted unblemished conference records en route to regular season titles. The Women's Tennis team would go on to win the NACC Tournament in the spring, advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Championship success carried over to the winter where the Women's Basketball program posted a 17-3 record in the NACC on their way to a league title. The Falcons finished the season with a 20-6 overall record and the conference championship was the sixth over the past 10 seasons for the program.

Following a title in the spring of 2015, the Women's Lacrosse program had high expectations heading into 2016. The Falcons met those expectations, posting a 9-0 league record, capturing a second straight MWLC Championships. In addition, the Falcons won the MWLC Tournament, advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second straight season.

Overall, in sports that feature a win-loss record and conference competition, the Falcons Women's teams posted an overall record 122-62-5, a winning percentage of .658. In conference play, the Falcons finished with a 76-23-1 record, a winning percentage of .765. In addition, the Falcons Cross Country team finished third at the NACC Championships, while Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field and Women's Golf each finished second.

It was another strong year for CUW Athletics in 2015-16. Leading the way this past year were the Women's teams, who will look to duplicate their success in 2016-17.
